Y is for yardstick and other ways to measure

During Y week, we discovered what a yardstick was!  We had fun measuring different items in our room and deciding if they were longer or shorter than a yard stick!  We even recorded our ideas by writing the words or drawing a picture to represent the object!

Later that day, we got to use cubes to help us measure different parts of our body!  We counted how many cubes long our legs, feet, arms, hands and heads were!  Some of us even tried to see how long our whole body was or how long we would be if we laid with our friends!  We had a lot of fun finding different ways to measure!  Keep up the great work 4K!!

Lucky 4K

St. Patrick's day was a lucky day in 4k!  A leprechaun visited our room, and boy did he make a mess!  Good thing our 4k class is so responsible and independent and were able to help clean up the leprechaun's mess!  During our clean up, we discovered the leprechaun left us a pot of gold!  We used our math skills to count out pieces of gold (pennies) to match the number on our paper coins!

We also turned ourselves into leprechauns and wrote down what makes us feel lucky!  Check out our amazing writing skills!  Our leprechauns are in the hallways for all to see!
